Works Package

  • Footway construction works, incorporating new kerblines, block paving, asphalt surfacing, drop crossings, raised bus stop access points and provision of level access thresholds to shops.
  • Carriageway reconstruction, realignment and resurfacing works with the application of new road markings.
  • Installation of new controlled pedestrian crossings and traffic signal junctions.
  • Placement of ornate street furniture, including: bus shelters, cycle stands, seating, litter bins, lighting columns, pedestrian guard-railing, trees and tree furniture.
  • Installation of various traffic calming measures, including raised plateaus, road narrowings and a new one-way system.
  • Various drainage and ducting works comprising ACO linear drainage kerbs & channels, new gullys, replacement ironwork, ducting for street
    lighting, traffic signals and proposed CCTV system.

Hazards and Restrictions

  • Works subject to traffic and pedestrian management.
  • Sensitive operations to be carried out during off peak hours.
  • Maintaining both safe footpath and vehicular access throughout the works.
  • Various buried services along the length of the site.
  • Length of works to be opened up at any one time restricted.
  • Confined spaces working.
