NMS Civil Engineering is an established contractor based in North West England and operating primarily in the North West, North Wales, West and South Yorkshire and the Midlands. We traded as Northern Motorway Services from our establishment in 1985 until 2000 when changes in work patterns and customer feedback led to the change in name.
We initially concentrated on large scale, civil engineering, motorway projects involving road planing, carriageway reconstruction, pavement maintenance and repairs, drainage works and new build schemes.
With our ever growing reputation, for providing high quality services, we soon expanded our client base to include local authorities and private sector clients, where the same commitment, experience and expertise have been ably demonstrated on the vast array of projects carried out by ourselves.
As our customer needs and demands have increased over the years, we have expanded our planing fleet, now the fourth largest in the United Kingdom, and we also provide and install temporary vehicle restraint systems, such as our own Temporary Concrete Barriers System (N2TCB) and the Varioguard Safety Fence System (VSF). In addition, we have also developed a specialist ‘No-Entry Concrete Barrier System’ to deter unwanted vehicles from accessing sites and other areas of land.
As Quality is a fundamental part of our business, we instigated a programme to attain third party certification, and we achieved ISO 9001:2000 status in 2001, as well as Constructionline registration, all of which demonstrate our level of commitment to providing the highest level of service to our clients.
