Works Package

  • Work includes highway & traffic signal junction improvements on A666 Lark Hill & Barbara Castle Way, Blackburn.
  • Installation of numerous Traffic & Pedestrian Management set-ups which is in the form of road / footpath closures & diversions
  • Take down existing pedestrian guardrail & installation of new guardrail.
  • Realign kerblines and improve footways and pedestrian crossing islands.
  • Installation of new traffic signal duct & access chambers.
  • Proving existing traffic signal ducts.
  • Highway drainage adjustments.
  • Installation of traffic signs and traffic signal infrastructure.
  • Carriageway improvements, planing and resurfacing new carriageway.
  • New road markings and road crossing studs

Hazards and Restrictions

  • Works are located on the periphery of the busy Town Centre of Blackburn.
  • Traffic & pedestrian management set-ups, road / footpath closures and diversions
  • Traffic Signal installation, carriageway planing and surfacing work carried out under night time closures.
  • The provision of appropriate measures and protection to enable pedestrians and cyclists to safely navigate the works at all times.
  • Interface with different contractors using NMS Traffic Management.
