Works Package
- The works are the construction of a widened four arm traffic signal controlled junction with ne pedestrian islands & encompass the following:
- Excavation of existing footpaths to allow new carriageway narrow widening construction
- CCTV survey of existing drainage & installation of new carriageway drainage and access chambers
- New kerb alignment and construction of pedestrian crossing islands
- Supply and installation of footway & carriageway crossing ducting, access chambers, traffic signal pole NAL retention, feeder pillars, electrical connections for the street lighting and traffic signals.
- Planing out existing carriageway surfacing and laying new binder course and HRA surface course aprox. 4500m2 under temporary closures
- Plane out existing footway surfacing and laying new binder and surface course
- Supply and install new street lighting, traffic signs, traffic signals, antiskid surfacing, road markings and cycle markings.
- Supply and install new extra low voltage traffic signals with crossing facilities including mains supply feeder pillar, controller cabinets, cabling detection, testing and commissioning.
- Additional works where existing services were encountered within the proposed construction which had not been lowered / diverted by STATS. NMS required to carefully excavate to expose services, lower & protect

Hazards and Restrictions
- Works completed in the vicinity of 2 schools, village hall, church, residential business properties, BAE Systems Warton Aerodrome requiring access at all times.
- Maintain both safe footpath and vehicular access through the works for school children and the public. Installation of lane closures with temporary traffic signal control, pedestrian crossing signals and bus stop closures
- Additional works where existing services were encountered within the proposed construction which had not been lowered / diverted by STATS. NMS required to carefully excavate to expose services, lower & protect
