Works completed for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council on the A666 Barbara Castle Way junction Lark Hill on the busy periphery of Blackburn Town Centre. The key objectives to improve the flow of traffic and minimise congestion for all road users with additional measures to reduce the journey time of buses to and from Blackburn Bus Station. To encourage sustainable transport uptake, particular cycling and walking incorporating shared use facilities through the junction.
Work consisted of footway improvement and re-surfacing including replacement and realign the kerbs to pedestrian crossing islands. Removal of existing traffic signals, traffic signs, pedestrian guardrail and replacement with new. Planing and resurfacing carriageway along with new road markings.
